Due to the winter storm that is predicted for our area Friday night and into Saturday, we will need to CANCEL this Saturday's trip to the Gulches. We have been in contact with LVR today about this and we both agree that it's in both parties best interest to cancel our event.
The National Weather Service is forecasting 8" to 12" of snow up there on Friday night and another 3" to 5" on Saturday with very cold temperatures. This would make all 3 of the Gulches trails dangerous to travel and also a safety hazard due to the very steep terrain. The safety of our members and directors is a high priority to us so we feel this is best. We hope you understand.

If there is a day that works with both LVR and CSC4W to reschedule this event, we will try to do so. We will keep you posted.
Have a safe weekend!

Our first event of the year will be on May 22nd, 2022.

We will meet at 8:00 at the Safeway on West Colorado Avenue. As stated at the meeting last weekend our listed meeting times are intended to be departure times so please arrive a little early to ensure that we can leave as close to 8 a.m. as possible. We'll do a quick sign up and briefing on the 3 trails to choose from. From there, we'll travel up to Divide, turn North and head Northwest to a large parking area to air down and divide into 3 separate trail groups.

All 3 trails (Metberry Gulch, Longwater Gulch and Hackett Gulch) are similar in difficulty but Metberry is probably the easiest of the bunch.  All 3 trails head downhill toward the river, but only Metberry Gulch travels all the way to the river legally. The other two trails are technically closed at the Park County line and that's where we'll stop. Bring a lunch as we'll be having lunch on the trails.

After our time on the trails, we'll be heading to LVR (Lutheran Valley Retreat which is VERY close by) for supper. They have activities like horse back riding, zip line and other games if you wish. A donation is suggested for supper. It's always a great time of fun and fellowship after a day on the trails!

Kirk and Keith will lead the Metberry Gulch run

Mike and Glenn will lead the Longwater Gulch run

Sam and Jason will lead the Hackett Gulch run.
